April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among only a handful of female players of beach volleyball to have done so. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to win her third gold medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' last chance to take home an Olympic gold. She remains optimistic that she will be able to win top awards. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that if the team plays consistently or well they can earn a gold. So I'm going to take a little bit of luck too. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her parents as well as her sister lived there. She was able to participate in a myriad of activities at Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. She was definitely a cut above the rest when it came to the second sport. Based on her bio, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle volleyball player during her senior year at high school. Her efforts were recognized in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National players of the year. Her skills in volleyball won her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Although Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since 2017, the former was already a big-time athlete on the beach long before their pairing. The American has been a major winner in tournaments twice with different partners. The other is an iconic player in the world of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013, she was partnered with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the 2009 World Championships. In 2012, the pair took silver in London's Olympic Games. They were knocked out of the gold medal by the legendary team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college the years prior to her professional career. This was an impressive career for Ross in the college level. In 2000, as a freshman Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. She also helped her Trojans get to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to be a second All-American. Sadly, Ross mother Margie did not get to see Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001 when Ross was still a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. She is devoted to her late parent. Also, Margie is an ongoing source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday the world of.
