April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players to be able to do so. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian who will be joining her at Tokyo. Ross will also be hoping for her very first Olympic medal. There is a chance that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Nevertheless, she remains certain of taking top honors. Ross through NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing well or at all they could win a gold. "I'm planning to test to have a bit of luck." Ross was born in California in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. She lived here along with her parents and sibling. Her athletic career began at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of activities. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors as a prep athlete. She was clearly the best player in indoor volleyball. In her high school volleyball career, according to her college profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. Thanks to her hard work she was awarded the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, she won her the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles in the year 2017. The reality is that Ross was an important player in the world of beach volleyball prior to the pair. She's won big tournaments twice with different partners. One of them has become an iconic player in the world of volleyball. Ross teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009. They went on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor when she retired. Together, they won bronze medals in beach volleyball for the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross began her college career with the USC Trojans in her high school days. It was a long time before Ross made her debut on the beach and became a pro. The time she spent at USC was one to remember. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans to make it to their first Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still successful in achieving the All-American title. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans to the summit winning three consecutive championships at the national level. For her part she established herself in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the most outstanding female college volleyball players in the country. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and dear. Margie, on the beach and in daily life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
