April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball athletes to win medals at many Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian who will be joining her at Tokyo. In addition, Ross will be aiming for the first Olympic gold. Perhaps it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. But she's still confident of achieving top honours. Ross on NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they can earn a gold. So I'm going to take some luck as well. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. Apart from competing in various sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball, track and running. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than the average. When she played in her high school volleyball career as per her college biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Also, in 2000 she was recognized as the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their partnership in 2017, however, Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. In actual, Ross has won several important tournaments throughout her career with two partners. One of them is a volleyball legend. Ross teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's trainer. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships in 2009. The 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her the college years following her graduation from in high school. Her career was a success during her time in the NCAA tournament. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year. She was also named an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. She endured a great personal loss in her sophomore, however, she was able to achieve the All-American title. During her final two seasons with the Trojans in the program they won success by winning two the national title in consecutive years. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time great winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a major in International Relations at USC. Unfortunately, Ross mom Margie never got to see Ross's daughter reach the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beach.
