April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among a few women beach volleyball athletes that have done so. Alix-Klineman will compete with April Ross Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the next couple of days. Ross is determined to earn more than just her first Olympic medal. At 39, it may be her last shot. Nevertheless, she remains certain of taking top honors. Ross told NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best and even play well and they are able to play well, the team will be able to win the gold medal. That's why I'm taking the chance also. Ross born the 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She lived there along with her entire family. Ross went on to play in numerous activities during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements in her time as a college athlete. In the last sport she was clearly the standout. Her college biography states that she was an outside hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career at high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her as the National Player of 1999. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do from the year 2017. However, Ross was an important player in the beach volleyball scene before the pairing. Actually Ross has been a winner of several significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One of them is a volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until the year 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took each other to take home the gold. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she announced her retirement. The pair took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to the start of her professional career. She played during high school and in before hitting the beach as a professional. This was an impressive performance for Ross during her time at the college level. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year accolades. She also was an All-American. The Trojans could also make it to the Final Four with her help. In her sophomore season she suffered a devastating personal loss and still was able to be named an All-American. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans towards the summit of the mountain by winning two three consecutive championships at the national level. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time legend winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross who was an USC international relations student was a volleyball star. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter's rise to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer while she was a sophomore in USC. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie continues to be an inspiration on and off at the beach.
